Fleur McDonald Director | Solicitor
For me—Law is all about people. Especially in the areas in which our team specialise — the buying and selling of Property (Conveyancing), Estate Planning & Asset Protection, Trusts, and Elder Law.
Your needs will be unique to you—requiring an equally personal approach.
My practice is built on the desire to help others. Over the past two decades, I have endeavoured to provide professional services to my clients in an empathetic, respectful manner. A testament to this is the relationships I have built with numerous clients, who I am blessed to have worked with for many years.
Being able to give back is important to me. Currently, I sit on the Board at Age Concern Canterbury – an organisation that supports Elders in our community on a practical, day-to-day level. I am also a founding member of the Elder Law Special Interest Group (Elder Law SIG), and the Canterbury West Coast Welfare Guardianship Trust — and regularly speak for many organisations such as the New Zealand Law Society, Dementia Canterbury, and latterly The Eldernet Group.
I am blessed to be supported by wonderful colleagues, Julia, Stacey, and Ella. What I respect most about these women, is their willingness to put our clients first. But this all comes back to my opening statement.
Law is about people—and that is the heart of my practice.
Julia Dockerill | Registered Legal Executive
Julia began her career in the Law industry by working at the Christchurch Law Society Library.
Since then, she has worked predominately in the property and conveyancing fields within a couple of practices and completed her Legal Executive Certificate in 1998.
After moving away from law, she has worked in accounts and office management before joining the team at Fleur McDonald Legal in April 2022 as part of the conveyancing and elder law team.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, movies, and relaxing.
Stacey Smit | Legal Executive
Stacey joined our team in November 2023. She has been working in conveyancing for 19 years.
The first 12 years in South Africa, until February 2017, when she brought her skills to New Zealand. Stacey’s passion is all things Conveyancing, but she also enjoys working in other areas of law such as Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney. Stacey has extensive knowledge with many types of conveyancing matters and provides our clients with the best possible advice and assistance to make their transaction as smooth as possible.
In her own time, Stacey enjoys reading, exploring our beautiful country, and spending time with her young family.
Ella Buckner | Receptionist / Junior Legal Administrator
In early 2023 Ella left school to pursue an opportunity to work with Fleur and her team as a Legal Administrator. Ella has a passion for law and welcomes the chance to grow within the industry. Her short-term goal is to begin studying towards her Legal Executive Diploma.
Outside of work Ella enjoys spending time with her family, reading and spending time with her puppy, Winston.
